My mistake-- the b vitamin that's supposed to prevent migraines is riboflavin. Supplemental pills didn't do much for me.

I've had terrible migraines (almost every day) for the last twenty years. They're especially bad in the summer: heat is a trigger. I joined an acai juice club two months ago, so I started drinking a lot of juice, and my headaches are almost completely gone. I've been such a slave to migraine meds for so long, I can't believe I'm headache free. It's possible that the high b vitamin content of my drinks may be helping too-I think niacin is supposed to help prevent migraines.

To Tessa--
Alcohol is a common migraine trigger.

To Tania--
Clearly you do NOT want to take pills that give you headaches. There may be a better product out there for you. At least the birth control is helping you.

I have tried the Acai pills for 1 week now, and have had 2 full days of migraine headaches. I have been able to control my headaches with birth control and no chocolate. So the fact that I have been taking 2 acai pills each day for a week, i would surmise that these are causing my headaches. I will be discontinuing them today to see if this weekend i will be headache free.

I heard of just the opposite, a close friend of mine as suffered from Migraines for years. She would 2-3 a week and many of them were disabling. She has tried various combinations of prescriptions meds with limited and irregular control of attacks. Then she tried an Acai juice and like turning off a switch to light, the Migraines stopped. We were both sceptics since we both work in pharma industry, but the results in this case study were solid.... She has been taking Acai now for about three months and has discontinued all of Migraine related medications. Not sure about all the various brands of Acai juices, but the one she tried works for her. Good luck

I have heard of this but the source is completely unreliable. I personally haven't had any problems.

I had a couple of raspberry acai tropicana drinks, each with one shot of vodka, right before bed. I woke about 4am with a terrific migraine. Two nights later I drank one before bed without alcohol and I woke in the morning with a headache. I'm wondering if there's a connection.
